The URZ is responsible for the expansion, operation and security of the University’s local area and Wi-Fi networks. Over a thousand Wi-Fi hotspots offer internet access at most campus locations and also in various parts of the city.
The URZ also operates a VPN server, which grants secure remote access to the University network. These and other network-related services ensure that students, employees and guests of Heidelberg University are able to surf the web or access their data safely, quickly and easily.
