Access and requirements
Create a print order via the web form:
Print orders can exclusively be submitted via the linked web form. Please log in on the form webpage in the top left corner with your Uni ID and the respective password. This ensures that you are authorized to use the service. Your data is transferred directly so that you do not have to enter it again when collecting your order.
Procedure and pick-up:
You should allow at least 24 hours for a print job. After completing the print job, you can pick up your poster by appointment at the University Computing Center (URZ) (Im Neuenheimer Feld 330, Room Z 04). You can use the web form to select a date and time that suits you. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 14:30. You will receive two e-mails after sending the order. One e-mail confirms receipt of the order. If there are no issues, the second e-mail should confirm the desired appointment.

Supported file formats
Files in the following formats can be processed for poster printing.
- PDF (Important: For programs that work with layers such as InDesign or Photoshop, please combine/merge all layers into a single layer. Otherwise, problems may occur when printing!)
- JPG / PNG
Paper types
Coated paper 90g
This is the standard and most widely-used paper.
Coated paper (heavy) 125g
This paper is a bit heavier. It is not easily bent and is therefore more suitable for framing and repeated use.
Photo paper (satin finish) 190g
This paper is a quality satin photo paper. The satin sheen enhances the rendering of colors, etc., but, depending on lighting position, it does not reflect much light. Thanks to better contrast it is recommended for posters with photos (not necessarily for posters with diagrams and tables).
Poster sizes
Please note that borderless printing is not possible. However, you do not need to include a border when designing the poster. The printing software takes this into account automatically without any loss of quality.
The print resolution for large format printers is software-based max. 2400 x 1200 dpi.
The standard poster format in Europe is DIN A0.
We also offer DIN C formats. These provide approx. 20% more space for information and images due to their slightly greater length and width. Please note that exhibition walls must be wide enough for this: it may be necessary to ask the organizer about this.
Table
DIN A0 | 1189mm | 841mm |
DIN A1 | 841mm | 594mm |
DIN A2 | 594mm | 420mm |
