26 June 2024 – IT Security Lecture Series AI and Information Security

The topic of artificial intelligence is currently being debated in many different contexts. These new technological possibilities have already begun to change the field of IT security. Machine learning methods, for example, can be used for a wide variety of purposes. The technical spectrum ranges from the planning and execution of cyber-attacks to their detection and defense. Identifying AI-generated content is becoming increasingly important in the social sphere given the spread of disinformation. 

Poster Lecture Series AI & Information Security

The lecture series “Artificial Intelligence and Information Security” is organized by the bwInfoSec team in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR). This series of events will examine the topic of AI from varying perspectives and will place new developments within the framework of the current security debate.

bwInfoSec is a federation formed by the universities and colleges of Baden Württemberg to jointly improve information security at the state's institutions of higher education. The core information security team at bwInfoSec is based at the Heidelberg University Computing Centre and the University Service Center on the Reutlingen University campus.

The lectures are open to the public and will be held at the Mathematikon of Heidelberg University. You can also attend the event remotely via the heiCONF  video conferencing portal . All lectures will be held in German.
