AI & information security

The lecture series is organised by the bwInfoSec federation in cooperation with the IWR (Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing at Heidelberg University). bwInfosec, with the information security team based at the URZ, aims to improve information security at the state's universities and colleges.

bwHPC Workshops

In the offered workshops, beginners and advanced users can learn everything they need to know about using our high performance system, which is part of the implementation concept for high performance computing in Baden Württemberg bwHPC.

Data Hour

In the monthly 'Data Hour' webinars, experts provide important information on research data management, present tools and answer questions. Researchers and those responsible for RDM are cordially invited to attend the presentations, receive advice and make contacts.

Data storage and backup

This training shows you how to use the synchronization and backup solutions heiBOX and Client Backup (Duplicati), so that if your computer malfunctions, user data can be restored quickly and as completely as possible.

Microsoft SharePoint - Introduction

In this course, you will receive an introduction and overview of the most important functions of SharePoint. SharePoint is a platform for collaboration within work groups, research projects, departments, institutes and facilities.

SPSS for Windows - Self-learning Program

This is an online course for learning about the IBM SPSS Statistics Software. Content will be presented in short videos and will be practiced and reinforced with individual exercises.

Research Data Management

The Competence Center for Research Data, which is operated jointly by the University Library and the URZ, regularly offers workshops and training courses on the topic of research data management. Individual consulting appointments can also be arranged.

Consultation hours

Licence consultation hour Wed 14:00-16:00

Weekly public heiCONF consultation hour, Wednesdays 14:00-16:00. Students and employees can simply dial in via video call and ask questions about software and licences.

E-Science-Tage 2023

Every two years, Heidelberg hosts the E-Science Days, an interdisciplinary series of conferences on research data management and open science.

The Community Forum Data-Intensive Computing (DIC) is an exchange and information meeting for current and future users of DIC services of Heidelberg University.

IT Forum for IT Representatives
